Roof structure gone!… and the brand new 40V Makita Recip saw was absolutely amazing, I could not have done it so safely and quickly without it. The only thing was that the brand new 5Ah battery only lasted about 4 hours and not an entire day as some of the Makita forums suggest, not a big deal as I’ve got more of them on the charger.
It was a tough day combined with lots of afternoon 3 minute downpours. It went well though, took lots of on the spot planning and anticipating what could/would go wrong by cutting something out. It took me 9 hours total including stacking the rafters and battens and cleaning up which is quite reasonable for a one man band. Again no costs.
Tomorrow wlll be a more relaxing day taking the roofing iron to the dump (recycling) and cutting up the rafters and battens as firewood for winter.
