Plumbing

If you plan and design your plumbing  you may be surprised about the benefits. Most people leave the planning and design (and install) up to the plumber as they are surely the most versed in this space. Although this is certainly true for most plumbers, we believe that getting involved gets us a better result. But why is that so?

Things that are really annoying are having plumbing underneath a bedroom so you can hear the water flow, water-hammer (or noisy water pipes) and having to wait for hot water come out. But of course there are solutions to every problem. Being on stumps has many benefits we think, especially when it comes to plumbing. These are the things we have planned and designed and that will be installed:

  • two separate hot water systems, each being right below the wet areas
  • where possible, plumbing is routed away from the house
  •  use the most appropriate materials for example coper over pvc.
The three phases for plumbing are rough-in (underground), rough-in (above-ground) and finishing. Make sure that you get your certification forms for each stage before going to the next one. Your plumber will be very unhappy of you don’t.

Today, 18/2/25 Brisbane City Council has decided to issue a permit for the scope of work which is fantastic. Form 7 next which is for requests for plumbing inspections in relation to this permit..

Thanks Joey for capping off the sewage line and for lodging our form 4 with QBCC (12/2/25) in preparation for the house lift & shift.

These are things that must be done by contractors who have the appropriate (occupational) licences. Unless you have these yourself, you must outsource this to get your certification forms.

Completing Form 1

Fill out the form early and check that you have a articulation report if your soil test report states that you are a class H, E or P site (our was a P and S). In most cases the  articulation report is included in your engineering designs.

Here are the six steps to complete when using the BCC online portal…

  1. Application details:
  2. Property description:
  3. Confirm property description:
